Centenary Appeal - Restoration of Sundial & Plinth

Help Restore a Piece of Ewell History!

Dear Ewellians,

Many of you will fondly remember the old, uneven path near the tennis courts, and the historic stone plinth that once stood proudly there. It was designed to support a sundial, a silent keeper of time from when Ewell Castle was a private home. Over the years, the sundial was sadly lost, and both the plinth and the path have fallen into disrepair.

This year marks a momentous occasion: our centenary. To celebrate this milestone, we are launching the Centenary Plinth and Sundial Appeal. Our goal is simple yet meaningful: to restore these cherished items to their former glory and preserve a tangible link to our school’s past.

We are reaching out to all former pupils to help us achieve this vision. We are seeking a small, symbolic contribution of just Â£5.00 to the fundraising campaign. Your support will make a direct impact. To acknowledge the collective generosity of the Ewellian community, we will engrave the new sundial with a suitable message dedicated to the support of Ewellians in its purchase.

Thank you for continuing to support your school. Your contribution ensures that this piece of our shared history is restored for future generations to enjoy.

Tennis Academy Travel Fund

HELP US RAISE TRAVEL FUNDS FOR OUR TENNIS ACADEMY PUPILS

Ewell Castle Tennis Academy pupils travel around the country to compete at competitions, and they need your help.

This incredible achievement not only highlights the skill, dedication, and teamwork of our young athletes but also ranks Ewell Castle No. 1 in the UK and at the forefront of school tennis on a global stage.

The cost of making this dream a reality is substantial, and the Tennis Academy is calling upon the generosity and support of the wider Ewell Castle community to ensure these young Ewell Castle athletes can proudly compete.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

We invite everyone in the Ewell Castle community and beyond to get involved. Whether it's through donations, participating in fundraising events, or spreading the word about our cause, your support will make a difference.

Welcome to our fundraising and donation page. We currently have four fundraising appeals that you can donate towards.

To process online payments, we use the secure payment processing platform STRIPE.

  1. For Sixth Form Bursaries to enable pupils currently in the Senior School (whose family financial circumstances may have changed, so they can no longer afford the School fees) to continue with their education at Ewell Castle in our Sixth Form.
  2. For a Tennis Academy Travel Fund, that provides financial assistance to pupils currently in the high performance Tennis Academy to help with the cost of travel to and from tennis training, national and international competitions.
  3. For a Science/Maths Bursary, that provides financial assistance to current Ewell Castle School pupils who would like to study either 3 Science A-levels in our Sixth Form, or 2 Science and Maths/Further Maths A-level at our Sixth Form, but whom without additional financial support from the bursary fund could not afford the school fees, and so would have to leave.
  4. For Tennis Shoes and Tennis Racket Re-stringing, to enable us to support pupils on our elite Tennis Academy to purchase the necessary tennis kit and equipment to allow them to compete and national and international level, and fulfil their sporting potential.

Sixth Form Bursary Appeal

Under its public benefit provision, the School currently offers a number of bursaries to families who would not otherwise be able to afford a Ewell Castle School education for their children. Demand is high, however, the School’s funds are limited. We would love to be able to help even more dedicated children and so The Ewellians Association Committee and Ewell Castle School are launching an Ewellians Sixth Form Bursary to support existing Ewell Castle School families who require support to enable their children to continue into our Sixth Form.

It is financial support to allow pupils to continue their academic journey into our Sixth Form (which may also include opportunities for Ewellians to mentor and provide work experience to Sixth Form students).

Science/Maths Bursary Fund

Money from this Science/Maths Bursary will contribute towards the fees of pupils wishing to either join or continue on to Ewell Castle School Sixth Form from the Senior School who wish to study either 1) all three Sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) or 2) two Sciences and Maths/Further Maths. The aim of this bursary is to allow academically able pupils wishing to study Science/Maths the opportunity to study at Ewell Castle School even if their family's financial circumstances would normally make this unlikely. Recipients of the bursary will be decided jointly by the Principal of the School and the Head of Science and Head of Mathematics.
